APC Cork strives to only carry eco-friendly products, so we are proud to announce that Vinyl Cork is Greenguard “Gold” certified, one of the highest certifications available. If you are aren’t familiar with Greenguard, it is one of the leading organizations that certify products as low emissions of VOC’s, including formaldehyde, which is one of the main criteria for products to be used in schools and healthcare facilities. Vinyl Corks “Gold” certification is best in class and complies with the requirements of the State of California’s Department of Public Health “Standard Method for the Testing and Evaluation of Volatile Organic Chemical Emissions from Indoor Sources Using Environmental Chambers, Version 1.1 (2010)” (also known as California Section 01350).

Certifications are a great way for consumers to know they are purchasing a “Green” product but we like to take it one step further and factor in the life cycle of our flooring, on a cradle to grave approach. Nowadays, with new technology, the manufacturing of Vinyl Cork flooring has a very low impact on the environment because we ONLY use recycled vinyl and all scraps are re-used in the manufacturing process. Because no trees were cut to make our wood like flooring and the durability of vinyl (less land fill waste), Vinyl Cork has become one of our most eco-friendly products.
